Gospel brunches abound in the area, but Ginny’s Sunday brunch is the most lavishly decadent. Its all-you-can-eat buffet ($45 per person) is a great way to sample upstairs restaurant Red Rooster’s menu, including mac-and-collard greens, chicken and waffles, and some of chef Marcus Samuelsson’s Swedish-inspired specialties. Local gospel choirs raise the roof as diners devour heaping platefuls of food in plush booths. For dinner, an à la carte menu is served while musicians like Johnny O’Neal, one-time member of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, hold court on stage. Dinner sets are typically 7pm and 9pm Thursday-Saturday. Reservations are recommended.
